We require all contractors to follow all applicable trade license requirements.  Some states require roofers to have roofing licenses, while others allow general contractors to work on roofs.  In that case a general contractor license will suffice.  Furthermore, some states do not have any licensing requirements for roofers; but some of those states do have local requirements.

In addition to trade license requirements, we also require all contractors to have business/occupational licenses.

For insurance, we require all roof replacement and gutter contractors to have general liability (minimum $2 million aggregate / $1 million per occurrence) and worker’s comp insurance (legal requirements for that state & locale).
